ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Baseball junior Xavier Garcia (Greenfield Center, NY/Saratoga Springs/SUNY Adirondack) took home Empire 8 Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for the second-straight week.
The southpaw tossed seven shutout innings to get the win on April 11 vs. Alfred. He allowed just one hit and whiffed 12 Saxon batters to move to 3-0 in his RSC debut spring.
RSC (16-7/10-0 E8) is scheduled to host Utica on Wednesday at 3:00 PM. Before playing a seven-inning contest, the teams will begin the afternoon by completing their suspended contest from April 2.
