AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Russell Sage College baseball wrapped up their spring break trip with their tenth game in eight days on Saturday against Calvin.
The run of strong pitching continued for the Gators (6-5), as junior Aidan Green (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro/Onondaga CC) went six strong innings punching out five, and was followed up by two shutout innings by junior Richie Tamsett (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie/HVCC).
Offensively, the lone run from RSC came off the bat of senior outfielder Evan Grimes (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) who blasted a solo shot over the right field fence in the third inning for his first big fly of the season.
Grimes added another hit to the line score, finishing as one of two Gators with multiple hits in the Saturday morning contest. Senior outfielder Leandro Guzman (New Britain, CT/New Britain) was the other with a pair of line drive singles.RSC travels back north and returns to action on Sunday against Union.
