SAGE HONORS KIMBERLY CRAFT AS DEAN SHARON ROBINSON SENIOR FEMALE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Albany, NY—The Sage College's department of athletics gathered to recognize and honor the outstanding performances of the 2016-2017 year with the naming of the athletic award winners for the 15 varsity athletic teams. Sage saluted the Most Outstanding Player in each sport with the Gator of the Year Award and also named the 2016-2017 Female and Male Athletes of the Year as well as the Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, which is given to the senior student-athlete with the highest overall grade point average. Earning the 2016-2017 Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year was women's track and field performer, Kimberly Craft (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville).
A two-year letterwinner for the Gators' track and field team, Craft was a physical education major with a minor in psychology and achieved and impressive 3.99 cumulative grade point average. She has excelled for the Gators in her time with the track and field team, having recorded a number of top performances in the sprints and throwing events. A Dean's List student, she has also been recognized as a Sage Scholar-Athlete in her time as a Gator and was named to the Sage Athletic Honor Society and is a multiple honoree on Sage's Dean's List.
Head coach Jim Bowles said of Craft, "Kimberly came into the season with a goal in mind, academic and athletic excellence." Bowles continued, "She achieved both having been honored as the Salutatorian at commencement this past month. Her hard work and dedication resulted in her earning numerous awards and acclaim for her efforts. I look forward to her achieving many great things in her life."
