Sage strolls past Purchase in Skyline play, 93-38

Albany, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team hosted the Panthers of Purchase College on Tuesday night in a Skyline Conference game. The Gators posted the 93-38 win and improves to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the Skyline, while watching their win streak grow to five games as well. Purchase drops to 2-12 overall and 1-8 in the league.

Sage led 46-21 at the break as junior forward Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) added 18 points in the first half as the Gators held Purchase just 30.0% shooting the first half. She hit 7-10 from the floor in the first half and 8-14 for the contest. By game's end, Schoff added 20 points and 14 rebounds for her eighth double-double on the season.

Schoff ranks ninth at Sage in scoring with her 862 points, while moving to No. 5 in career rebounds with 554 rebounds. She is also now No. 2 in career blocks with 78 having moved ahead of Krystyn Knockwood (76, 2013-2016), while ranking No. 2 as well with her 269 career made free throws.

Rookie guard Gessica Patregnani (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) added 15 points off the bench making 5-of-6 from three-point range and tied her career-high. Junior Alyssa Nellis (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) also tallied a career-best effort as she finished with 10 points and six rebounds.

Schoff ranks ninth at Sage in scoring with her 842 points, while moving to No. 5 in career rebounds as she moved ahead of Chelsea Martin (535, 2010-2104) as she has 540 rebounds. She is also now tied for No. 2 in career blocks with Krystyn Knockwood (76, 2013-2016), while ranking No. 2 as well with her 265 career made free throws.

Purchase's junior guard Kayla Ortiz (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Collegiate) added a team-leading 17 points as the only player in double-digit scoring.

For Sage's head coach Allison Coleman, now in her third season at the helm of the Gator women's basketball team, the victory marked her 50th career win. She is now 50-19 as the head coach with an impressive .725 win percentage.

Sage is back in action on January 21 hosting Skyline Conference opponent Mt. St. Mary College in a 1 p.m. match-up in Kahl Gym. Purchase College returns to action on Jan. 21 hosting St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn in a 2 p.m. conference contest.
