Sage men drop game to Bard on Thursday evening

Albany, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team hosted the Raptors of Bard College on Thursday night. The Raptors used a strong second half run to take control of the game after they reeled off 11 unanswered points and broke a 535-53 tie. Bard improves to 2-6, while Sage drops to 3-4.

Bard's sophomore forward Emmanuel Oyakhilome (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) finished with a game-best 24 points and 15 rebounds to lead the action. He added 14 defensive rebounds with four assists, two blocks, two steals and made three baskets from three –point range.

Junior guard David Runcie (South Orange, NJ/Columbia) also hit three baskets from downtown and added 20 points with eight rebounds. He added 12 points in the second half for Bard, while Oyakhilome added 14 second half points as Bard held a 32-29 lead at the break as Runcie buried a three-pointer right before the half.

For the Gators, sophomore Anthony Mitchell (Bronx, NY/Salesian) added 17 points with five rebounds, while junior center Kevin Lenehan (Delanson, NY/Duanesburg) finished with a double-double on 15 points with 10 rebounds and a block.  Both senior forward Barceem Dukes (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) and sophomore Isaiah Scurry (Albany, NY/Albany) added 10 points apiece for the Gators.

Sage is back in action on Saturday, December 9 hosting SUNY-Polytechnic at 2 p.m.
