Gators Open 2023 at Middlebury

Junior Hethar Scutt (Ancramdale, NY/Taconic Hills) set the program record in the 500m with a time of 2:18.03.

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. –  Competing for the first time in six weeks, Russell Sage College opened the 2023 portion of its indoor schedule at the Middlebury Winter Classic.

Senior John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) continued his banner winter by winning the weight throw with a toss of 16.47m.  The heave bettered his program record in the event. Coddington finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 13.17m.

Sophomore Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) established the program record in the 500m in 1:23.21, while sophomore David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) finished 200m 18th out of 44 entries with a time of 24.24.

On the women's side, the 4x400m relay team of junior Giuliana Capparello (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Futlonville), junior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties), sophomore Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston), and sophomore Crystal Ivery (Cairo, NY/Cairo-Durham) finished eighth with a 5:09.99 clocking.

Junior Hethar Scutt (Ancramdale, NY/Taconic Hills) set the program record in the 500m with a time of 2:18.03.

Freshman Alexius Smith (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) triple jumped 9.13m to take eighth, while Ivery completed 400m in 1:14.51 to finish ninth.

Looking ahead, the Gators compete next on Saturday at the Utica Blue and Orange Invitational.
