Albany, NY –The Sage College's department of athletics gathered to recognize and honor the outstanding performances of the 2014-2015 year with the naming of the athletic award winners for the 15 varsity athletic teams. In addition to awarding the Gator Award, for the Most Outstanding Player, the department also named the 2014-2015 Female and Male Athletes of the Year as well as the Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, which is given to the senior student-athlete with the highest overall grade point average.

Sophomore midfielder Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) earned the Gator of the Year Award in women's lacrosse. She tallied 50 points on the 2015 season on 24 goals with a school-record 16 assists. She is No. 2 at Sage in career points with 70 points on 49 goals with 21 assists. She broke the career assist record in just two seasons and is on pace to own every Sage scoring mark as a junior. She is currently ranked nationally ranked as she is No. 189 in assists per game (1.83), while ranking No. 180 in points per game (3.85) and now holds the Gator single-season assist mark as well (16). She is also already No. 3 in career goals with 49 in just two seasons.

Head women's lacrosse coach Pete Stapleton said of Koralus, "Monica had break-out season with Sage's women's lacrosse program in 2015." Stapleton continued, "Breaking the single-season assist record on her way to 50 total points, her sophomore campaign has propelled her into a leading role with the team moving into the 2016 campaign. Her ability to be receptive to coaching helped her grow and develop as an athlete and as a lacrosse player.  She is always leading through example, especially during conditioning.  She is one piece of the foundation of our program as we build the future of Sage Women's Lacrosse."
