ONEIDA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College totaled a 315 to finish second out of seven squads at Friday's SUNY Poly Fall Invitational, held at the Kanon Valley Country Club.
All of the scoring Gators were in the top-15 of the 40 golfer field. Senior Elijah Waterhouse (Lake Luzerne, NY/Hadley Luzerne) led RSC with a third-place score of 75. (+3)
Sophomore Ryan Arp (Greenville, NY/Greenville CAD) carded a 77 to finish fourth, while senior Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) fired a 79, good for seventh.
Senior Devin Gilbert (Kingston, NY/Kingston) rounded out the RSC team contigent with an 84 to tie for 13th.
Sophomore Anthony O'Dell (Chatham, NY/Chatham) (88), junior Anthony Rizzo (Latham, NY/Shaker/HVCC) (94), sophomore Matthew Stoliker (Schenectady NY/Schalmont) (89), and freshman Eli Wickham (Winthrop, MA/Winthrop) (91) also competed for the Gators. The quartet shot 88, 94, 89, and 91 respectively.
Utica took home the team title with a score of 312.
On the women's side, junior Grace Kinkaid (Ballston Lake, NY/Shen) tied for third place with a round of 88 (+16).
Up next for the Gators is the Empire 8 Conference Men's Golf Fall Championships on October 6 and 7.
Gator Bites: Waterhouse averaged a 78 across two rounds of golf this week...He tied for fifth at Tuesday's Keuka Fall Invitational with a score of 81...RSC has now finished in second place in all four of its competitions this fall.
