Sage falls in finale as contest marks end of an era for Reed and Pajak

Union, NJ—Sage's women's lacrosse team travelled to Kean University for the 2013 season finale. The host Cougars of Kean University collected an 18-4 win to improve to 12-5 overall and 7-3 in the Skyline Conference. The Gators wrap the program's most successful season with an overall record of 4-11 with a 3-7 record in Skyline Conference play.

Kean lead 13-0 at the break, but the Gators put together a strong second half with four goals.

Sage's rookie Mallory Hansen (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) tallied three goals in the action to lead the Gators. She caps her first collegiate season with 20 goals and 21 points. 

The contest marked the final collegiate appear for two of the Gators, senior attacker Alexa Pajak (Earlton, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) and senior goalie, Courtney Reed (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville).

Pajak connected for one goal in the action to finish her record setting season with a school record 64 points on 53 goals and 11 assists. She caps her career as the program's all-time leading scorer with 106 points on 90 goals and 16 assists.

Reed, who finished with nine saves in the action, is also the program's all-time leading saves performer with 324 in a record 38 games played in goal. She holds the program's record for most wins in a season (3) and career (4).
