Sage Women's Lacrosse Team Participates in Spring Break Community Service Projects

Albany, NY--
The Gators of The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team did more than just practice and play games during their Spring Break 2013! The Gators participated in a community service project on Thursday at the nearby Capital City Rescue Mission.

The team spent the day at the Albany Rescue Mission on South Pearl Street. The day started with a tour of the facility and wrapped up with the team members and head coach Pete  Stapleton assisting with a number of projects at the facility.

Sage's lacrosse players participated in a number of activities, including cleaning guest rooms and common areas as well as assisting with a group mailing and preparing meals for members at the facility.

Senior goalie Courtney Reed (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) said of the activity, "It was a very rewarding experience to help people who are in need." Reed added, "It was a great team bonding experience and I am grateful for the opportunity to help others."

CCRM serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, 365 days a year without cost to the homeless and struggling residents of the community. Their chef's expertise and his heart of compassion strengthen men, women and children. Volunteers help prepare, serve and clean up.
