St. Joe's remains unbeaten in the league with win over Sage

Patchogue, NY—Sage's women's lacrosse team travelled to St. Joseph's College for a Skyline Conference match on Friday afternoon. The host Golden Eagles posted a 19-3 win improve to 8-3 overall and 5-0 in the league. The Gators drops to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

St. Joe's held a 14-1 lead at the break and was paced by Heather Ferchland as she tallied seven goals in the action. Lisa Olsen connected for three goals and an assist in the match.

Sage's freshman Mallory Hansen (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) led the Gators with her two goals, elevating her total to 16 goals and 17 points, which stands second on the team this spring.  Sage's senior attacker Alexa Pajak (Earlton, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) added a goal in the action and is the team's top scorer with her 36 goals and 10 assists for 46 points. Sophomore Lindsay Millett (Ravena, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) added an assist, giving her seven points on the year on two goals and five assists. 

Pajak holds all of Sage's career scoring marks as she has 73 goals, 15 assists and 88 points, all active career bests for the young Gator program. Her feat is even more amazing as she has played in just 21 career games at Sage.

Sophomore Serena Heard (Malta, NY/Ballston Spa) made her collegiate debut in goal and turned away six shots on the afternoon, but suffered the loss in her debut.

The Gators return to action on April 6 travelling to Purchase College for a 1 p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
