Sage falls to unbeaten FSC in Skyline play on Wednesday evening

Schenectady, NY—Sage's women's lacrosse team hosted the Rams of Farmingdale State College on Wednesday night at Frank Bailey Field. FSC posted an 18-2 win to remain unbeaten in Skyline Conference play with a 9-0 mark and improve to 13-2 overall. The loss puts Sage at 4-10 overall and 3-6 in the league.

Farmingdale's offense was paced by 12 different players that scored in the action, while the team's high scorer, sophomore Nicole Marzocca (West Babylon, NY/North Babylon) had one goal and an assist, elevating her season total to 42 goals and 29 assist for 71 points. Sophomore Christy Thoden (Bayport, NY/Bayport-Blue Point) finished the night with two goals and four assists.

Sage's senior attacker Alexa Pajak (Earlton, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) scored twice for the Gators. Pajak, the Gators' top scorer this season, she has 52 goals and 11 assists for 63 points. She holds all of Sage's career scoring marks as she has 89 goals, 16 assists and 105 points, all active career bests for the young Gator program. Her accomplishments are even more impressive as she has played in just 25 contests at Sage.

Sage's senior goalie Courtney Reed (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) made six saves in the action, while Farmingdale's freshmen goalies, Thalia Medina (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) and Georgia Kalamidas (Old Bethpage, NY/Plainview JFK) shared time in goal. Medina picked up the win to improve to 11-2 in goal with no saves in 30 minutes, while Kalamidas made three saves with two goals allowed in 30 minutes.

Reed continues to add to her active marks for Sage goalkeeping as she now 315 career saves and has played 37 games in goal.

Sage returns to action on April 20 travelling to New Jersey where they will face Kean University in a 1 p.m. Skyline Conference match.
