RSC Falls twice to Nazareth in women's volleyball

Rochester, NY—Russell Sage College's women's volleyball team traveled to Nazareth College for two matches on Sunday with the Golden Flyers. Nazareth posted a 3-0 win over RSC in the Empire 8 contest (25-9,25-14,25-18). In the second match, RSC won the first set, but fell to Nazareth, 3-1 (22-25, 25-11, 25-15, 25-13).

In the first match, senior right side Renee Martin (Troy, NY/Troy) had four kills, while junior Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) racked up five kills with a dig. Junior middle hitter Celia Gagnon (Troy, NY/Ichabod Crane) added three kills, while and junior setter Francesca Gigliotti (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) had six digs with 8 setting assists.

Sophomore defensive specialist Elaina Moisidis (Albany, NY/Albany) added 14 digs for the Gators.

In the second match, senior outside hitter Brooke Monty (Copake, NY/Taconic Hills) had six kills with two digs and a block assist. Gagnon had 6.5 points after adding four kills, an ace with three digs and three block assists. Parkington racked up 8.5 points as she had seven kills with seven digs and a block assist.

Moisidis had 29 digs in the match, while senior defensive specialist Kayla Weaver (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin Perth) had seven digs with a kill
