Michael Capitelli

At Sage:

• Michael Capitelli was a rookie goalie on the first Sage men’s lacrosse team in 2019.
• By season’s end, he had played 9 games in goal with 2 starts. He allowed 60 goals and made 51 saves with a .459 saves percentage.
• Capitelli also had a 1-1 record in net and led the team with his 13.58 goals against average.
• Along the way in 2019, he also collected a selection as the Empire 8 Men’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week after a banner performance.
• A starter and a team captain in 2020, he started all 7 games, going 2-5 in net.
• He set a Sage single-game record for the most saves in a game after he collected 30 saves against Skidmore on Feb. 25, 2020. He now has 5 of the team’s Top 10 ranked save performances in a contest and has 164 career saves as well in goal, which leads the young Sage program.
• Capitelli owns a 9.65 saves per game average on his career in 17 games played in goal, while sporting a .487 career saves percentage.
  

Academics at Sage:

• He is majoring in physical education at Sage and is a Dean’s List student.
  

High School:

• A graduate of Oceanside High School, Capitelli excelled in both football and lacrosse and helped the football program collect the Nassau County Championship as a senior on the football squad.
