No stranger to Sage’s field hockey program, Abigayle Greier (Elma, NY/Iroquois Central) will transition into a new role with the team after starring on the field for the Gators during her career. For the 2022 season, Greier will serve as the program’s graduate assistant coach.

Selected as the team’s Gator of the Year for her outstanding play as a senior with the team, Greier certainly left her mark on the team.

Greier wrapped her 2021 season with a record of 4-13.  Along the way, she made 20 or more saves on four occasions and started all 17 games. She also set a program record with 28 saves in a game when the team faced Utica this past fall. She closes out her career having established most of the young program's standards for goalies.  She also holds the mark for most career wins (14), most career starts by a goalie (47), most games played by a goalie (48), while also making 449 saves in her time in net with a saves percentage of .723. She played in net for 3,001 minutes and finishes with a 3.43 career goals against average which is third best.

Academically, she also excelled in the classroom and was named to the Sage Athletic Honor Society for the second straight year, while also garnering her second consecutive selection to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

She has extensive experience having worked as a NEXUS Coach with USA Field Hockey and the Affrims Sports Complex.

As an undergraduate at Sage, she earned her bachelor of science degree in health sciences in December of 2021, she is working toward her doctorate degree in physical therapy from RSC’s Graduate School.
