ALBANY – Russell Sage College junior Chase Zobel (Halfmoon, NY/Shenendehowa) was announced as the ECAC eSports Overwatch 2 Outstanding Rookie of the Season.
Playing as the main tank, the transfer from HVCC helped the Gators make the playoffs.
Head Coach Luke Martin on Zobel: "Chase has shown great leadership, tenacity, and sportsmanship throughout scrimmages and games, proving himself as not only a great player but a great friend. He communicates well in-game, giving the team a strong in-game playstyle to rally around. Chase used his remarkably calm and positive attitude to help rally his teammates, no matter how intense the matches and scrimmages became. His impact was profoundly positive, and he exceeded every expectation the program had for him in his first semester of competition."
