New York, NY –Sage women’s soccer player, junior forward Cassidy Bruen (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville) was named the Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week.
Bruen tallied a goal and an assist in the team’s lone match of the week, as Sage topped the College of Mt. St. Vincent on October 3. Bruen earned Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week status this week as she helped the Gators remain perfect in the league. Sage is now 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference. On the season, she has seven points on two goals and three assists.
The Gators are ranked in numerous statistical categories with the release of the latest NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer statistics. Sage ranks 15th in Division III with its total assists (28), while also ranking 24th in assists per game (2.55). Sage is also ranked No. 25 in total points (96), No. 27 in goals (34), as well as No. 30 in points per game average (8.73).
The Gators are ranked 35th in scoring offense (3.09), while standing No. 73 as well in win percentage (0.727). Next up for the Gators is a match-up with Mt. St. Mary College on October 7 at MSMC at 5:30 p.m. The Knights are also 4-0 in the league and are 8-3-1 overall.
Sage is home again on October 11 hosting Yeshiva University in a noon Skyline Conference match-up to be held at Albany College of Pharmacy’s Athletic Complex. Sage will sponsor a Take a Kid to the Game promotion in conjunction with Sunday’s Sage soccer doubleheader as the Gator men also host Yeshiva at 3 p.m. There will be a number of giveaways and prizes for the youth in attendance on Sunday as well as the Sage Gator mascot on hand to take pictures and sign autographs!
