Sages Trimblett earn third Skyline Rookie of the Week citation

New York, NY –Rookie forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) was selected as the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for the third time this fall. She was instrumental in Sage's women's soccer efforts last week as the Gators are rewriting the history book this fall.

Last week, Sage went 2-0 with a win over SUNY-Polytechnic mid-week and an 8-0 win over Sarah Lawrence College on October 17. The victory over SLC marked a number of high-water marks for the Gator women's soccer program. With the win over the Gryphons, Sage improves to 12-3 overall and remains unbeaten in the Skyline Conference at 7-0.  The Sage win ties the record set last season for most wins in a year with 12, while marking the team's seventh straight victory, also a new mark and the team's seventh league victory.

Since joining the Skyline Conference in 1997, Sage has never won seven league contests in women's soccer until this fall, while this year's team has now won seven consecutive games, bettering the streak of six set in 2003.

Last week, Trimblett added a five-point performance with the lone goal in the 1-0 win over SUNY-Polytechnic and then added three assists in the win over Sarah Lawrence College. On the season, Trimblett has tallied 26 points on 10 goals with six assists. She has three game-winning goals as well and is ranked nationally in seven different categories with the release of the newest NCAA Division III Stats. She is No. 49 in points per game (2.17), while standing No. 77 in total points and is No. 61 in is assists per game (0.5), while ranking No. 72 in goals per game (0.83).

The Gators are ranked in numerous statistical categories with the release of the latest NCAA Division III Women's Soccer statistics. Sage is ranked No. 11 in total assists (43), while standing No. 131 in assists per game (2.87) as well as No. 12 in total points (149), and No. 13 in total goals (53). With a 3.53 scoring offense rating, Sage is No. 24 in Division III, while the team saves percentage (0.877) is No. 28.The Gators are ranked No. 63 in shutouts percentage (0.533), while ranking No. 39 in win loss percentage (.800).  

Sage is home on October 22 hosting Farmingdale State College in an 8 p.m. Skyline Conference match-up to be held at Union College's College Park Field. The Rams are 8-5-2 overall and 5-1 in the league, but have won the last eight straight Skyline Conference Championship titles.
