Gators roll past Yeshiva, 9-0 and remain perfect in Skyline with Sixth Win!

SAGE WOMEN'S SOCCER TOPS YESHIVA, 9-0 AS GATORS REMAIN UNBEATEN IN SKYLINE

 

Albany, NY –The Sage women's soccer team hosted Yeshiva University on Sunday afternoon in a Skyline Conference match-up. The Gators rolled to a 9-0 win as they remain unbeaten in the Skyline Conference this season at a perfect 6-0. Overall, Sage has won five games in a row and is now 10-3, while Yeshiva drops to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the league.

 

Sage's junior forward Savannah Mason (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) scored a pair of goals and two assists in leading the Gators on Sunday. She now has 15 points this fall on six goals and three assists. She is also climbing the program's career scoring list as she now has 21 career goals with seven assists and 49 points, which is No. 8 all-time.

 

Rookie forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) added two goals as well for the Gators, including the game-winner. Trimblett finished with two goals and leads the 2015 lineup with her 21 points on nine goals and three assists. Freshman Joleen Marfone (Remsen, NY/Remsen) also had a pair of goals in the action, while senior co-captain Nicole Maher (Glen Clove, NY/Saint Dominic) earned the win in goal and added goal as well as a field player.

 

Maher is also making an assault on the Gator scoring record book as she has 32 career goals (No. 3) and is also now No. 3 in career points (82).

 

Maher shared in the shutout win with rookie Emaleigh Maloney (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) as the pair have helped Sage record three straight shutout wins. Yeshiva's senior goalie Annie Jaffe (Cleveland, OH) made 21 saves in the loss.

 

Sage has now outscored their opponents by a 44 to 10 margin with six shutouts on the year and have also tied the program's mark for most league wins with their sixth, a feat they have achieved twice previously since joining the league in 2007.

 

Sage is back in action on October 14 hosting the Wildcats of SUNY-Polytechnic in a 7 p.m. non-conference contest at the nearby Plumeri Sports Complex (Albany, NY).
