Maher named to 2015 NSCAA All-Region East Squad

Kansas City, MO –The Sage women's soccer team was honored with the release of the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region teams as senior goalie and forward, Nicole Maher (Glen Clove, NY/Saint Dominic) was placed on the All-East Third Team. Maher, a team captain becomes the first player for head coach Andrew Gamarra honored with the selection after his Gators went 14-4-1 on the year and finished league play this fall with an 8-1 mark and a share of the 2015 Skyline Conference regular-season crown. The Gators advanced to the 2015 Skyline Conference semifinals, before falling in penalty kicks.

Earlier this fall, Maher was named to the 2015 Skyline Conference All-Star First Team for her play at goal keeper, but also excelled on the field as a forward too this fall.

Maher, who was named the Skyline Rookie of the Year in 2012 is now two-time first team honoree having also earned first-team honors as a rookie. Maher, who played her first three years as a Sage field player and capped her senior campaign as both a goalie and field performer, earned Skyline First Team honors as a goalie. She went 13-2-1 in net with a 0.80 GAA, while allowing just 10 goals in 16 games and tallied four shutouts. She also tallied 16 points this fall on six goals and four assists. With the release of the latest NCAA Division III statistics, Maher was ranked No. 70 in the country with her 0.80 goals against average. Offensively, Maher finishes as the program's No. 3 all-time leader in career goals with 34, while adding 18 assists, which was No. 2. She tallied 86 career points, which is No. 3 at Sage.
