New York, NY –Rookie defender Nicole Bauer (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) was selected as the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week as Sage's women's soccer team went 2-0 last week and picked up a pair of shutout wins. Co-Player of the Week.
The Gators lead the Skyline Conference with a perfect 6-0 mark and recorded two wins last week over league opponents, Mt. St. Mary College (1-0) and Yeshiva University (9-0) and Bauer helped to anchor a defense that also leads the league with their 0.77 goals against average.
The Gators are ranked in numerous statistical categories with the release of the latest NCAA Division III Women's Soccer statistics. With the release of the latest NCAA Division III statistics, Sage is ranked in both the team and individual stats. The Gators are ranked No. 10 in total assists (36), while standing No. 11 in assists per game (2.77) as well as No. 16 in total points (124), and No. 18 in total goals (44). With a 3.38 scoring offense rating, Sage is No. 25 in Division III, while the team saves percentage (0.865) is No. 44.The Gators are ranked 35th in scoring offense (3.09), while standing No. 73 as well in win percentage (0.727).
Sage is home on October 14 hosting SUNY-Polytechnic at the nearby Plumeri Sports Complex at 7 p.m. The week caps with the Gators hosting Skyline Conference foe, Sarah Lawrence College on October 17 at 1 p.m. at ACP's Athletic Complex in conjunction with Senior Day! Sage will honor 2015 seniors, defender Jamie Hovendon (Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean Township), midfielder Angelica DeCianni (Green Island, NY/Heatly) and forward/goalie Nicole Maher (Glen Cover, NY/Saint Dominic).
