At Sage:

A newcomer to Sage in 2016-2017, Joanna Tavolaro competed as a member of the cross country squad and the track and field program as a rookie.

As a member of the track team, she broke two school records as she now owns the mark for the pole vault (2.45 meters), which she set at the Mount Holyoke Spring Fling Meet and then also set the record in the triple jump. Her triple jump mark is 9.86 meters and was set at the Capital District Championship at RPI.

Academics at Sage:

She is majoring in applied biology and pre-med at Sage. She was named to the 2016 Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete Team and earned a spot on the Dean’s List at Sage.

High School:

She was a three-sport athlete in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and served as team captain for all three teams. She was a Foothills Council All-Star as well as a 2nd Team all-conference cross country all-star and was a two-time indoor champion in Section 2 Class C pole vault, while also winning a pair of outdoor titles. Twice she was the indoor and outdoor leading scorer, while also penning her name to the school record in the indoor and outdoor pole vault.
