Former Gator defender Samantha Schmidt joined the women's soccer coaching staff in 2022. 

The team captain, who earned first and second team All-Conference honors during her career, helped the Gators win the 2020-21 Empire 8 Conference Tournament Championship. She graduated as the program’s leader with 72 games started and played in 77 career games, second-most by an RSC player.
