Title: Assistant Coach Women's Soccer, Mental Performance Coach

Powell Cucchiella enters his second season as an assistant coach for the women's soccer program. He specializes as a Mental Performance Coach for the Gators. A former Division I player at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), Cucchiella has experience as a player and a coach and as a mental wellness trainer.

After his collegiate player career wrapped, he continued his soccer playing having participated as a member of several amateur outdoor and indoor national championship teams based out of Baltimore, Maryland.

After earning his bachelor degree from UMBC in psychology with a concentration in child development, he earned his Master’s degrees in Counseling and Community Psychology from Sage in 2015. He is a licensed mental health counselor and has been a practitioner for children and adolescents for the last six years. In 2021, Powell founded a mental performance business for athletes looking to achieve more consistently and perform more confidently by assisting them in understanding, managing, and training the mental part of their game, skills the Gator women’s soccer team will surely gain from with his new role with the team.

Cucchiella also holds his National "D" License for coaching.

He currently resides in Ballston Spa, NY, with his two sons, Creighton and Bryson.
