A transfer from SUNY-New Paltz, Shelby Ruppenthal arrived at Sage in the fall of 2012. She is a former scholastic stand-out at Guilderland High School.
She earned letters there in both soccer and track and field, while earning a selection as the team's most improved player. She was part of a squad that advanced to the second round in the finals.
In her first season at Sage, she played in 11 games with one start and added four points on one goal and two assists. Last year, she started 10 of 14 games played and handed out 2 assists. She has now played in 25 games at Sage and has 6 points on 1 goal and 4 assists.
She is majoring in sociology and public health and plans on pursuing a career as a nurse practitioner following graduation. Her sister Samantha is a former women’s soccer player at Oneonta State. She is the daughter of Steve Ruppenthal and Susan Gale.
