Clermont, FL----Dominican University (IL) tallied a 10-0 win over The Sage Colleges softball team on Thursday at the National Training Center. The Stars improved to 5-2, while Sage drops to 0-6.

Dominican’s bats came alive with three home runs off 14 hits as senior Carolyn Rogers (Moline, IL) added a pair of homeruns in the contest, elevating her season total to four on the year. Junior catcher Abbey Bullerdick (New Market, IN) added a home run as well for the Stars.
The Gators’ senior short stop Kellie Jones (Troy, NY/Troy) added a double in the game and continues to lead the team with her five-extra base hits, including three doubles this week. Junior Allison Bishop (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) was 1-2 on the day, while sophomore Meghan Welcome (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) added a 1-2 effort as well.
Sage’s freshman pitcher Gabriella Skillen (Milford, NY/Milford Central) worked the complete game for the Gators and drops to 0-2 after yielding eight earned runs with a pair of walk and 14 hits. DU’s freshman Emily Mahoney (Crystal Lake, IL) picked up the shared shutout as she is now 2-0 allowing just three hits in four innings with three strikeouts.
The Gators will return to action on Friday, March 12 when they face Penn State Behrend and Northland College on the final day of their spring training trip at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively.
