Zackery Karl

At Sage:

  • A returning letterwinner, Zackery Karl has already earned three letters with the volleyball team as he opens his senior campaign. 
  • As a rookie, he was a member of the 2016 team that made it to the Skyline Championship semi-finals.   Karl played in 94 sets over 29 matches as a newcomer with 1.21 kills/set, 0.06 assists/set, 0.06 aces/set, 1.64 points/set, 0.30 digs/set and 0.57 blocks/set while totaling 114 kills, .172 hitting percentage, 6 assists, 6 aces, 154.0 points, 28 digs, .875 reception percentage and 54 blocks. Karl was first on the team in blocks/set and blocks and second in solo blocks (14).
  • In 2017, he started 19 matches and added 132.0 points on 90 kills with a .203 attack percentage. He also picked up 19 aces with 31 digs and 38 total blocks.
  • As a junior, he started 19 of 27 matches played and racked up 77 kills with 17 aces. He added a .792 serving percentage and added 24 digs with his 21 block assists. He also finished the season with 104.5 total points.

  • Karl was a three-sport student-athlete in volleyball, wrestling and baseball at Paul V. Monroe High School. In volleyball, he was a two-year captain who led his team to two Section 3 tournaments. Karl received 2nd-Team all-conference honors as well as a Section 3 honorable mention selection. A captain in wrestling, he was a Section 3 finalist for freestyle. He added three letter for his efforts on the baseball diamond.
