At Sage:

A returning letterwinner, Casey Fitzpatrick brings a long list of career accomplishments into his senior season on the volleyball court. A letterwinner at Sage previously in men’s golf and men’s tennis, Fitzpatrick was also selected to attend the NCAA Career Sports Forum last June.

Fitzpatrick picked up his second-team honor at the libero position after starting the first half of the 2017 season at setter. The junior knotted 41 assists, 14th best in the nation over three-sets, against Johnson & Wales while coming up with 23 digs in a five-set match against Mount Saint Vincent, 18th in the country. A three-sport athlete in volleyball, golf and tennis, Fitzpatrick recorded double-doubles against D'Youville (52 assists, 13 digs), Lehman (48 assists, 12 digs) and Keuka (31 assists, 11 digs). He became the second player in program history to hit the 1,000th career assist mark against Elmira. After being named to the honor roll three times, the junior average 9.25 assists at setter and 2.52 digs after switching to libero.

After three seasons, Fitzpatrick ranks 2nd in assists (1,361), 3rd in digs (617), 4th in digs/set (2.06), 4th in assists/set (4.54) and 8th in aces (49).

He was a member of the 2016 men's volleyball team that made it to the Skyline Championship semifinals and was named the 2016 Sage Men’s Volleyball Gator of the Year. Fitzpatrick played in 116 sets over 35 matches. The sophomore recorded 0.54 kills/set, 6.16 assists/set, 0.20 aces/set, 0.88 points/set, 1.62 digs/set and 0.23 blocks/set while totaling 63 kills, .171 hitting percentage, 714 assists, 23 aces, 101.5 points, 188 digs, .945 reception percentage and 27 blocks. The setter was first on the team in assists, assists/set and second in digs and digs/set.

The setter knotted three double-doubles in a 3-2 win over NJCU (45 assists, 14 digs), a 3-2 loss to Daniel Webster (55 assists, 10 digs) and a 3-1 loss to Bard (31 assists, 11 digs).

His strongest scoring performance his sophomore campaign came against Yeshiva in a 3-0 win. Fitzpatrick scored a season-best 9.0 points on six service aces and three kills with seven assists and two digs. His season-high 20 digs came in a 3-1 loss to Elms.

Fitzpatrick put his name in the Sage single-match record book in five-set assists (2nd, 55 vs Daniel Webster), three-set blocks (3rd, six at Mount Saint Vincent), assists (3rd, 55 vs Daniel Webster), three-set assists (7th, 36 vs Purchase), four-set digs (7th, 20 vs Elms), aces/three-set aces (9th, six at Yeshiva) and five-set digs (10th, 14 at NJCU).

The libero was named to the Skyline Second Team as a freshman in 2015. He was also named to the Skyline Honor Roll twice. Fitzpatrick played in 88 sets over 27 matches. The rookie recorded 1.10 kills/set, 0.42 assists/set, 0.18 aces/set, 1.30 points/set, 2.66 digs/set and 0.09 blocks/set while totaling 97 kills, .089 hitting percentage, 37 assists,16 aces. 118.5 points, 234 digs, .918 reception percentage and eight blocks. He was first on the team in digs and digs/set second in assists and assists/set.

Academics at Sage:

He is majoring in business at Sage and has excelled in the classroom. Active on campus, he is a member of Sage’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.), he was also placed on 2015, 2016, and 2017 Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete Team and has earned multiple Dean’s List selections. He is also a six time Sage Scholar-Athlete honoree and was named to Sage’s Athletic Honor Society in the spring of 2017.

High School:

A graduate of Haverhill High School, Fitzpatrick was a two-sport athlete in volleyball and soccer.  He earned all-state honorable mention honors in volleyball after also garnering MVC all-conference status as the team’s MVP. A two-year captain in volleyball, he helped the squad to the state semifinals after winning the MVC Conference Championship. In soccer, he was an MVC all-star and a team captain.

Fitzpatrick was ranked No. 2 in U-18 beach volleyball in New England in 2014.
