Christian Vaalstuen

At Sage:

• Christian Vaalstuen was a Gator newcomer in 2018 coming all the way from Norway. As a rookie, he was honored as the team’s Gator of the Year award recipient at the Athletic Award Banquet.
• As a newcomer, Vaalstuen started 11 of 14 matches played and helped to anchor the Gator midfield with his tenacious play. He was a leader on and off the pitch and added to the success of the squad in 2018.
• As a sophomore, he started all 18 games and added a goal with two assists. His goal was the game-winner as Sage topped MCLA.
• He also helped the Gators garner a spot in the 2019 Empire 8 Tournament, and a No. 2 seed.
• Vaalstuen earned a selection to the 2019 Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team for his play at the midfield.
• Vaalstuen has now played in 32 matches at Sage with 29 starts and has four career points on a goal and two assists.  

Academics at Sage:

• He is a business major at Sage.
• He was also honored with a pair of selections to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List twice in 2018-2019 for his work in the classroom.

High School:

• A graduate of Lambertseter Athletic School, Christian excelled scholastically in soccer.

Club Team:

• He is a member of the Oppsal Football Club program.

Personal:

• He is the son of Lars and Anne Vaalstuen Straete.
