Sage extends win streak to five matches after downing Hartwick, 3-1

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team hosted the Hawks of Hartwick College on Wednesday night in Kahl Gym in a non-conference match. Sage posted a 3-1 win (25-19, 25-13, 20-25, 25-20) to extend the squad's win streak to five wins in a row. Sage is now 8-4 overall and Hartwick drops to 4-8.

Sage's senior Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) added a double-double with her 14 digs and 11 kills, while racking up three aces with a .308 attack percentage in the match. Senior Rachel Martin (Troy, NY/Troy) tallied 12 kills with a blistering .550 attack percentage in the contest as she also had two block assists.

Sophomore setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) connected for 30 setting assists in the action while adding seven digs and an ace. Junior middle hitter Mickey Mango (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) had five kills with two digs and a pair of blocks.

Sophomore outside hitter Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) connected for a team-best 25 digs and had four aces.

Hartwick was led by the play of freshman Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) as she has nine kills with two digs and a block assist. Sophomore Mary Beth DeCuyke (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) and sophomore setter Quincy Kinzel (Scotia, NY/Gilderland) each racked up eight kills while sophomore libero Alyssa Zeitler (Chardon, OH/Berskire) had a team-high 17 digs. Kinzel had 33 setting assists in the action for the Hawks, while added two aces and eight digs.

Sage returns to action on September 21 travelling to Farmingdale State for a Skyline Conference tri-match featuring Yeshiva. Sage brings a 14-match conference win streak into the match having not lost a conference match since October 3, 2012.

Hartwick is back in action on September 20 hosting an Empire 8 Play-date with action commencing at 11:30 a.m.
