Albany, NY--The Sage College's men's soccer program continues to reap honors for their banner season this fall. The latest came this week with the announcement of the Skyline Conference and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men's Soccer Weekly awards.

Named this week's Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week, Sage's freshman midfielder Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck), while rookie midfielder Pat Noonan (Hyde Park, NY/F. D. Roosevelt) was selected the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Trinidad was also cited by the ECAC as the Metro Division III Offensive Player of the Week. 

Sage is aslo among the national Division III statistical leaders. With the release of the latest national rankings on November 1, the Gators' offense checks in 18th in scoring offense (3.0 goals per game), 18th in total goals (54) as well as 28th in total assists (38) and 35th in assists per game average (2.0). 

The Gators are 11-6-1 on the season and return to action on November 2 in the Skyline Conference Semifinals. Sage will face top seeded St. Joseph's College (LI) at 3:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the league's championship game on November 5 and a shot at the conference's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Division III Tournament. 

Player of the Week

Gustavo Trinidad – The Sage Colleges

Fr., M, Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck HS

Trinidad was outstanding in leading Sage to a 7-1 win over Old Westbury in the opening round of the Skyline Tournament…Netted a hat trick and added an assist to propel the Gators…Has 8 goals and school-record 7 assists on the season to rank second on the team in total points with 23.

Rookie of the Week

Pat Noonan – The Sage Colleges

Fr., M,  Hyde Park, NY/FD Roosevelt HS

Noonan was the other key figure in Sage's win on Saturday, netting both a goal as well as setting up 3 other others with assists…Part of a young team that advances to the Skyline semifinals for the first time in the programs that is just in its second varsity season.
