Throggs Neck, NY---The Sage College men's soccer team travelled to Maritime College on Wednesday evening for a Skyline Conference match. The host Privateers recorded a 3-1 win to improve to 9-4-2 overall and 4-2 in the conference, while Sage drops to 8-6-1 overall and 4-3 in the league.

Sage got on the scoreboard first as sophomore Evan Southworth (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) scored a header off a feed from sophomore Wesley Finch (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) at 12:11.  The goal was the sixth of the season for Southworth, while Finch leads the Gators in total points as he now has 23 on nine goals and five assists.

Maritime, the 2010 Skyline Conference Champion, answered right back as Jason Tursi scored the first of two goals on the night and the two teams went to the half tied at 1-1. Ryan Nugent provided the game-winner with his sixth goal of the year at 70:00. Tursi added the final tally with a penalty kick at 78:30 and now has a team-best six goals and 17 points.

Sage returns to action on Sunday, October 16 hosting SUNY-Old Westbury at 1 p.m. in a Skyline Conference match at the Bethlehem SoccerPlex in Glenmont, NY.
