Albany, NY---The Sage College men's soccer team hosted the Panthers of SUNY-Old Westbury on Sunday afternoon at the Plumeri Sports Complex in a Skyline Conference match. The host Gators tallied the 2-1 win to improve to 9-6-1 overall and 5-3 in the conference. Old Westbury falls to 4-10-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the league.

Sage's sophomore Wesley Finch (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) scored the first goal of the match at 23:37, giving the Gators a 1-0 lead. Finch leads the team with a personal-best 10 goals and 25 points. The lead did not last long as junior Tana Weekes (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) scored on a feed from senior German Parodis (Glen Cover, NY/Glen Cover) at 29:42.

The Gators took the lead in what turned out to the lone goal of the second half as Old Westbury scored an own goal at 55:28 and Sage would hold on for the win.

Sage's freshman Trevor Paddy (Brooklyn, NY/Jamaica) collected the win after making four saves, while OW's junior Pablo Diaz (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY/Sachem North) made two saves in the goal and took the loss.

Sage returns to action on Thursday, October 20 hosting Purchase College in an 8 p.m. Skyline Conference match at the Plumeri Sports Complex (Albany, NY).  The Gators will honor senior Chris Modelowski (Amersterdam, NY/Amsterdam) in conjunction with Senior Night.
