Katerina Lagace

At Sage:              

• Katerina Lagace added to the Gator lineup as a rookie in 2018. She saw time in the circle and at the plate.
• She added a 3-7 record with a 6.5 ERA in 13 appearances with 45 strikeouts. She had nine complete games in 70.0 innings of work.
• In 2019, she was 5-12 for the Gators with 13 starts and a team-best 22 appearances. She worked in 85.1 innings and fanned 46 batters along the way for a 5.41 ERA.
• She earned a selection as the Empire 8 Pitcher of the Week on March 25, 2019 after she collected a complete game win as she struck out seven in Sage's 3-1 win over Westfield State. She allowed just three hits and no earned runs with just one walk in the effort. Lagace held WSU to a .120 batting average in the game.
• At the plate, she batted .237 with nine hits and a pair of RBI’s.
• In 2020, she started 6 of 8 games played and strung together a 3-4 records.
• Lagace worked in 31.0 innings with a 2.48 ERA and struck out 19. She had three complete games and had a shutout as well as a junior.
• She also batted .375 with six hits and five RBI’s in 16 at bats.
• On her Gator career, she is now 11-23 in the circle with a 5.33 career ERA and 110 strikeouts. She has worked in 186.1 innings and has 19 career complete games to her credit. At the plate, she has a .250 batting average with 15 singles and seven RBI’s.
• Despite the shortened 2020 campaign, Lagace is already making her climb in the program’s career record book. She stands tenth with her 110 career strikeouts, 12^th with 11 career victories, 13^th in career appearances (43) and is also 14^th in innings pitched (186.1) and 15^th in complete games with 19. 

Academics at Sage:

• Lagace is majoring in applied biology with a path to physical therapy.  She earned Dean’s List honors in her first year at Sage and was also honored with a pair of selections to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List and as a Sage Scholar-Athlete in the spring and fall of 2018.
• A Sage Scholar-Athlete as a sophomore in the fall and spring semesters of her 2018-2019 academic year, she was also honored as an Empire 8 Presidents’ List selection and once again in the fall of 2019.
• A Dean’s List student as well, she is a member of the Tri-Beta National Honor Society and is the recipient of the Nancy Slack Award for excellence in science at Sage.
• She is a biology tutor and a chemistry teaching assistants as well at Sage.

 High School:

• A graduate of Newington High School, she was a stellar scholastic softball player. A two-time team MVP, she was a team captain and earned all-state honors as well as a pair of all-conference citations.
• She was also a two-time pick having earned a spot on the Junior Select Softball and Senior Select Softball teams.
• A member of the academic all-conference team in high school, she was also named to the Science National Honor Society, the English National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.

 Personal:

• She is the daughter of Michael and Loraine Legace.
