Jarod Martel

 At Sage:

  • As a newcomer to the campus in 2016-2017, Jarod Martel helped the Gator men’s volleyball team with his play. He started 8 of 29 matches played, appearing in 44 sets. He added 52 kills with 61.5 points on the year. He added an impressive .950 reception percentage on the season as well.
  • As a sophomore, Martel started 8 of 27 matches played and worked in 83 sets.
  • He had 101 kills on the 2018 campaign with 31 digs. He finished the season with 120.0 points and added 26 total blocks having racked up 24 block assists.
  • A three-year letterwinner at Sage, Martel will provide the Gators with leadership this coming season serving as a team captain.
  • He is coming off a 2019 season that saw him play in 25 of the team’s 27 matches with 124 kills and 143.0 points. He added 81 digs with 28 total blocks, while adding an .866 reception percentage. He has played in 81 career matches with the Gators entering the 2020 season and boasts 324.5 career points with 277 kills, 118 digs and 64 career total blocks.
  • Martel has also played for two seasons as a member of the Sage men’s golf team and is a two-sport performer for the Gators.

  • A graduate of Colonie Central High School, Martel was a two-sport athlete in volleyball and track and field. He was a four-time captain, team MVP twice, All-Team twice and Offensive MVP for volleyball. Martel’s team made it to the first round of playoffs.
