At Sage:

  • As a junior, Marcus Patterson started 23 of 26 games played while adding 276 points, good enough for a 10.6 ppg average. His season highs included 20 points against MCLA and 13 rebounds against Mt. St. Mary College, both of which are also career highs.
  • Over the course of his junior season, he earned numerous awards including a selection to the Nazareth College All-Tournament Team. He was also honored with two postings on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll in 2015-2016.
  • Shot an impressive 46.1% from the floor last year, while adding a 6.7 rpg average with 22 steals and 14 blocked shots.
  • Among his accomplishments for the 2014-2015 squad as a member of the Gator Skyline Conference Championship squad, he started two of the 25 games he played in with 6.1 ppg and 3.6 rpg averages. He added 17 assists with 10 blocked shots. His season highs as a sophomore included 15 points and 8 rebounds against St. Joseph’s (LI).
  • As a Gator rookie, he played in 24 contests and made eight starts. He averaged 13.9 minutes a game and by year’s end had a 4.8 ppg average, while hauling in 83 rebounds. He averaged 3.5 rebounds per game and shot 45.7% from the floor. He earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week Honors on February 10 after helping the Gators to key Skyline wins over NYU-Poly and St. Joseph’s College (LI). Twice during his rookie season, he hit 8 points (vs. MCLA and SUNY-Old Westbury), while hauling in 7 rebounds in the win over Union on opening weekend play.
  • He has now played in 75 career games which is 10th best at Sage. He has 33 career starts with   544 points in three seasons. He owns a 7.3 career ppg average, while adding 349 rebounds and 29 blocks. He ranks ninth all-time in career points at Sage to open his senior season, while his rebounds are seventh best on the program’s all-time list.

Academics at Sage:

  • He is a business administration major at Sage and has also earned Dean’s List honors.
  • He is extremely active on campus, working in Sage’s admission’s office and was the freshman vice president of the V.I.B.E. Club. He is also active in student government and was named the class president of the sophomore class, an honor he repeated having served as the junior class president in 2015-2016.
  • He works in the Sage Admissions Office as a student ambassador and is a member of the Sage Select Leadership Program.
  • Patterson is also the Head-Student representative of the Diversity Inclusion Committee, as well as a HEOP Summer Peer Advisor and has also been selected to meet with Sage’s Board of Trustees for his involvement on campus.
  • He is extremely active with Sage’s S.A.A.C. and has participated and organized many of the group’s community service projects.

  • A graduate of Mount Saint Michael Academy, Patterson arrived at Sage in 2013-2014 with an extensive resume. A senior co-captain, he helped his team to the 2011 CHSAA City A Championship crown.

  • He is the son of Stephon Patterson and Jennifer Caldwell.
  • His brother Tyshawn Patterson played basketball at Division I Stetson University before transferring to North Greenville University and is now playing professionally as a member of the Mozambique of South Africa Team.
