A returning letterwinner from last year's team, Jacob Sopchak will be looked to this season for an increased role. He played in 18 games a year ago and shot an impressive 72.7% from the floor (8-11), while adding three blocked shots.

A graduate of Rhinebeck H.S., he was a two-sport stand-out having played both golf and basketball. A team captain and MVP, he was an all-county performer, while also earning acclaim from the MHAL. He was also an all-state pick.

He is majoring in law and society at Sage. He is the son of Daniel and Ellen Sopchak. His sister, Natasha was a co-captain for the Roger Williams University volleyball team. He is an accomplished tap dancer as well, having taken five years of tap when he was younger.
