Russell Sage College has announced the addition of Alexander Gilbert (Lake Luzerne, NY) to the Athletic Training staff. A 2019 graduate of SUNY-Brockport, Gilbert earned his Master of Science degree in 2021 in applied physiology and kinesiology with a concentration in athletic training from the University of Florida in 2021. He joined the staff in August of 2021 and was named the Head Athletic Trainer in April of 2022.

As an undergraduate student at Brockport State, Gilbert earned his bachelor of science degree in athletic training and kinesiology, a CAATE accredited program, while also minoring in biology. While attending the University of Florida’s graduate program, Gilbert was a graduate assistant in the athletic department. He gained valuable experience with the PK Yonge Developmental Research School as their head athletic trainer working with the Class 3A school’s 26 teams. Additionally, he worked with the Saint Francis Catholic Academy as the head athletic trainer for the Gainesville, Florida program. He worked with the school’s 12 teams evaluating, diagnosing, and treatment and rehabilitation for their student-athletes.

Gilbert has also gained valuable experience having worked the Life South Half Marathon (Gainesville, FL), the FMS Screening for University of Florida Dance Program, as well as the NYS Intercollegiate Wresting Championship at Ithaca College and the Camp Smiles Games at Brockport State.
