A Pair of Gators Set Career Highs in Scoring vs. Drew

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla.  – Russell Sage College had three players score in twin figures against Drew this morning at the Saint Pete Classic, held at Eckerd College.

Junior guard Olivia Huneau (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) established a career-high of 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting in the 77-58 loss.

Sophomore guard Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) recorded 13 points and six rebounds, while freshman guard/forward Danielle Waldron (Cayuga, NY/Union Springs) scored a career-high 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting.

Freshman forward Kallie Hopkins (Millsboro, DE/Poly Tech) and sophomore forward Aniyah Kelley (New Castle, DE/William Penn) added six points apiece. Kelley topped the Gators with seven boards.

Sophomore guard Maddy Morgan paced Drew (4-6), which opened the contest on a 35-8 run to hold a 43-17 lead at the break, with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting.  She contributed six rebounds and five steals for the Rangers.

RSC (1-8) returns to the court with a pair of home games on December 30 and December 31. The Gators host Union on Saturday and the United States Coast Guard Academy on Sunday. Both non-conference games are slated to begin at 1:00 pm.
