SUNY Cobleskill Controls Paint to Upend Gators

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College junior guard Lauren Sanderson (Ravena, NY/RCS) equaled a career-high with 20 points in this evening's 68-51 non-conference loss to visiting SUNY Cobleskill.

Sophomore guard Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) added 15 points, while sophomore forward Aniyah Kelley (New Castle, DE/William Penn) registered eight points and eight rebounds.

SUNY Cobleksill, under the direction of former RSC standout Megan Bowman '15, controlled the inside to move to 5-0. Senior forward/center Logan Thayne (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls) helped the Fighting Tigers outscore RSC 42-4 in the paint tonight. She tallied a double-double of 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting and 15 rebounds.

Looking ahead, RSC (1-4) begins Empire 8 Conference play on Friday at 5:30 pm vs. Nazareth.
