Keuka pulls out 1-0 shootout win over Sage

Keuka Park, NY – After two overtimes, Keuka College won the shootout, 3-0, to post a 1-0 non-league field hockey victory over The Sage Colleges Sunday afternoon. The Wolves improved to 2-5 while the Gators fell to 2-6 on the season.

After ninety scoreless minutes, the teams went to stroke-offs to decide the winner. The second, third and fourth Wolves all scored, as Nicole Wilson, Taylor Lessard and Alyssa Orsino converted. Orsino had a game high four shots in regulation, and Wilson had three.

Keuka had eight of the game's nine shots, and freshman goalkeeper Abigayle Greier (Elma, NY/Iroquois Central) made two saves for Sage. Freshman back Alexandra Lettre (Kingston, NY/Kingston) made a defensive save for the Gators, coming at 68:20 off a shot by Orsino.

Keuka had 11 corners, including six in the first half, while Sage had seven corners in the game.

Sage will play at Empire 8 rival Elmira Saturday at 1 p.m. Keuka is at Nazareth Wednesday at 5 p.m.
