ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College was edged 73-69 in overtime by visiting Nazareth tonight in the Kahl Campus Center.
A pair of Gators (5-2/0-1 E8) registered 20 or more points in the Empire 8 Conference opener.
Junior guard Noah Girard (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) topped all players with 25 points, while senior guard/forward Jackson Brown (Latham, NY/Catholic Central/Fredonia State) tossed in 20.
Nazareth (3-3/1-0 E8), which erased a 13-point second half deficit in its comeback road victory, had four players score in twin figures.
Guard Jordan Haggard, a grad student, recorded a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Golden Flyers. Junior guard Jack Broderick and guard Logan Blankenberg added 12 points and eight boards each. Broderick, who went 4-of-8 from the field, tallied four points and five rebounds during the extra session.
