Farmingdale, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's golf team opened competition at the 2013 Skyline Conference Championships at the Beth Page Red Course, a par-70, 6,750. The two-day event wraps on Monday afternoon and will crown the league's champion, which will earn the conference's automatic qualifier to the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship in May.
Defending league champion Farmingdale State stands in first place after shooting a nine-over par round of 289, while St. Joseph's College is in second place with a 326 and the Gators stand in third place with a 327 for the day.

Leading the way for Sage in fifth place after firing a round of 75 is rookie Kevin Johnston (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville). Sage senior Zach Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake) posted an 83 for the day and is in 17th place, just one stroke ahead of Sage's senior captain Richie Christman (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) who had an 84. Junior D.J. Ioele (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) carded an 85 and is tied for 21st place, while senior Jeff Stopera (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) is in 25th with an 86.
