Record setting night as Sage bests Purchase, 77-71

Troy, NY –The Sage Colleges women's basketball team hosted the Panthers of Purchase College on Wednesday night in the Neff Center in a Skyline Conference contest. The host Gators tallied a 77-71 win to improve to 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the Skyline Conference, while Purchase falls to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the league.

The Gators held a 33-29 lead at the break and despite a slight hiccup in the second half pulled away en route to the team's fourth straight win as the squad racked up the key victory.

Rookie guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) poured in a career-high 17 points to lead the Gators, while junior guard Megan Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) added 16 points with a personal-best 12 assists, which ranks No. 1 with two others for the most assists in a single-game at Sage. Bowman now has 240 career assists which is No. 4 all-time on the Gator career list.

Purchase's Elizabeth Osowiecki added a game-high 21 points as she hit 7-13 from the floor and both Jess Lindsay and Jazmin Garcia tallied 14 points each. Jessica Bullock added a double-double with her 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Panthers.

Sage returns to action on January 18 travelling to SUNY-Old Westbury for 3 p.m. Skyline Conference orad matchup.
