ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College fell to visiting Elmira 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the ACP Athletic Complex.
Sophomore midfielder Martin Harguindey and midfielder Moustapha Camara, a grad student, scored the goals to help Elmira pickup the road Empire 8 Conference victory.
Senior goalkeeper Tyler Brennan (Albany, NY/Shaker) (Loss, 2-4-2) tallied five saves, while sophomore forward/midfielder Andrew Kraszewski (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) registered a team-high three shots.
The Soaring Eagles (3-4-3/2-0-2 E8) held a 4-1 advantage on corners, while both squads took ten shots apiece.
RSC (3-5-2/1-2-0 E8) plays its next three contests on the road. The stretch begins on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Keuka.
Notes: The Gators, which have finished in the top half of the E8 Conference standings in three of the last four seasons, made their fourth appearance in the E8 Championship Tournament in 2022…RSC got off to its best-ever start in E8 play at 3-0-0, and established a program single-season record with five E8 victories during the debut campaign of head coach Amir Pasic.
