ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Russell Sage College fell 2-0 in Saturday's Empire 8 Conference opener at Nazareth.
Junior midfielders Jake Pawlika and Drew Decker (Clifton Park, N.Y./CBA) scored the goals for the Golden Flyers (5-0-1/1-0-0 E8).
RSC senior goalkeeper Tyler Brennan (Albany, NY/Shaker) (Loss, 1-2-1) stopped eight Naz shots, while junior midfielder/forward Joe Piperata (Rensselaer, NY/Catholic Central) registered a team-high four shots.
RSC (2-3-1/0-1-0 E8) returns home on Tuesday to host Clarkson. The non-conference action is set to begin at 7:00 pm.
Notes: The Gators, which have finished in the top half of the E8 Conference standings in three of the last four seasons, made their fourth appearance in the E8 Championship Tournament in 2022…RSC got off to its best-ever start in E8 play at 3-0-0, and established a program single-season record with five E8 victories during the debut campaign of head coach Amir Pasic.
