Old Westbury, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team traveled to SUNY-Old Westbury for a Skyline Conference match-up on Saturday afternoon. The host Panthers tallied a 76-68 win to improve to 10-6 overall and 6-3 in the league. The loss puts Sage at 10-7 overall and 6-4 in the league.
Among the highlights of the day, Sage senior forward Mason Horne's (Albany, NY/La Salle Institute) became the all-time leading scorer in program history as he finished the day with seven points. Horne moved ahead of Matt Farbotko, who finished his career last year with 1,244 points. After Saturday's game, Horne now has 1,246 career points.
For the Gators, junior Kai Deans (Miami, FL/Monsignor Pace) and graduate performer, Jeff Stopera (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) each finished with 15 points. Stopera added six assists with four steals, while Deans hauled in seven boards.
Horne also added nine rebounds to lead Sage in the action, while rookie Brett Ullman (Sharon Springs, NY/Sharon Springs Central) poured in a career-high 11 points off the bench. Rookie Marcus Patterson (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) added eight points to tie his personal-best.
The Gators will be back in action on January 29 at Mt. St. Mary College for a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference match-up.
