ALBANY, N.Y. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) bestowed Russell Sage College midfielder Amy Stevens (Castle Creek, NY/Whitney Point), a grad student, with second-team All-American honors.
Stevens, who garnered first-team All-Region accolades from the organization, is the program's first-ever All-American.
She established single-season program records of 49 points and 20 goals en route to being voted the Empire 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Her averages of 3.06 points and 1.25 goals both ranked sixth in the country and led the E8.
Stevens, who established the program's single-game record for goals with four, helped RSC (6-10) qualify for the E8 Championship Tournament for the first time.
It now marks the third-straight sport season that a Gator has been selected an All-American. Former women's basketball player Syrita Faraj (Troy, NY/Tamarac) received an honorable mention for the 2022-23 WBCA All-America team, while softball outfielder Arianna Papas '23 (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) was named to the 2023 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Third Team.
