Gators Use Late PK to Tie WestConn

Hanlon

ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior forward Julia Hanlon (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) converted a penalty kick in the 89th minute to help Russell Sage College tie visiting Western Connecticut State 1-1 this afternoon at the ACP Athletic Complex.

Offense was tough to come by across the 90 minute deadlock.  The squads combined for just seven shots on goal and six corner kicks.

Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) (Tie, 2-1-1) stopped four West Conn (1-3-4) shots, while WCSU freshman goalkeeper Gracen Regan (Tie, 1-2-3) turned aside the only non-PK RSC attempt.

RSC (3-1-1) concludes a stretch of four-straight home games on Saturday afternoon vs. Keuka. The 2:00 pm matinee will serve as the Empire 8 Conference opener for the Gators.
