RSC Offense Erupts vs. SUNY Poly

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College got on the scoreboard 3:34 in and didn't look back to defeat visiting SUNY Poly 8-0 this evening at the ACP Athletic Complex. 

Sophomore defender Olivia Badalucco (Rotterdam Junction, NY/Schalmont) and junior forward Julia Hanlon (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) scored twice to lead the RSC (3-1-0) offense.  

Freshman midfielder Angela Competiello (Schenevus, NY/Schenevus), senior forward Kennedy Jones (Albany, NY/Albany), and sophomore forward Gianna Viscusi (Duanesburg, NY/Schalmont) added a goal and an assist each.

 
The offensive output marked the most by RSC since September 1, 2017, a 13-1 victory vs. SUNY Cobleskill. The Gators outshot the Wildcats (1-3-1) by a 32-5 margin, including 16-5 on goal, and earned seven corners compared to just one for the visitors.  
 
RSC, winners of three-in-a-row, continues a run of four-straight home games on Tuesday at 4:00 pm vs. Western Connecticut State. 

Notes: Coming off a trip to the Empire 8 Conference Tournament Semifinals, more than 20 players and four all-league selections returned this fall…Sophomore Courtney Bush (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) was chosen the E8 Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 10...She scored the lone goal and helped RSC limit Eastern Connecticut State to just one shot on goal, and six overall, in the September 10 home victory...Senior forward Kennedy Jones (Albany, NY/Albany), was selected the E8 Player of the Week for the period ending Monday, September 4…The second-team All-E8 pick registered two goals and an assist to help RSC win its home opener vs. Nichols on September 2…Jones, Bush, senior forward Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), and junior defender Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) headline the returnees.
